This wildlife-viewing tour offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to enter the hidden realm of the mountain grizzly bear. Head out to explore the glassy blue waters, secluded beaches and wild islet forests that embody the striking ecology of Chilko Lake, and witness bears feasting in their natural habitat.
Our journey begins in the peaceful shelter of the northern estuary of Chilko Lake. Below the watchful gaze of ancient glaciers and evergreen mountains we venture out into crystal clear waters pure enough to drink from. Our trained guides expertly lead you through stunning lakescapes and into the wild, where the water is alive with leaping salmon and the skies are teeming with watchful eagles and cautious hawks. Majestic grizzly bears roll in to begin their feast, tromping across pebbled shorelines or wading into the water to kick up salmon from the riverbed.
It is a humbling experience to watch the iconic Grizzly Bear come to feed in its natural habitat, to see mothers with cubs splashing playfully in the water while bald eagles swoop overhead scouring for scraps.
